Gannett Hires Former Omnicom Strategist

International publishing firm Gannett has named former Omnicom exec Emma Gilding as Vice President of Brand Research and Strategy in New York, responsible for delivering consumer, brand and market insights.

Emma GildingGannett's portfolio of broadcast, digital, mobile and publishing properties includes brands such as USA Today, Careerbuilder.com, and the UK Newsquest regional print and online newspaper network.

Gilding (pictured) was previously President and Principle Strategist of Omnicom's strategic planning advisory group in:site. She was also a Strategist for Group's Diversified Agency Services and a founding partner of its G23 unit, which focused on communicating with women. Prior to joining Omnicom, Gilding was Senior Partner/Executive Director of Discovery at Ogilvy & Mather; and President of Behavioral & Cultural Insights Ltd (BCI).

In her new position, Gilding reports to Gannett's SVP and CMO Maryam Banikarim, who comments: 'Emma has a deep understanding of consumer behavior and market trends. Her expertise and thought leadership will be instrumental in further evolving our businesses and helping our advertisers reach their goals.'
