rdsi Promotes Ten in UK

Consumer research agency rdsi has promoted ten members of staff, including Research Directors Emma O'Connell and Tim Gowing (pictured) who join the Senior Management team.

Emma O'Connell and Tim GowingThe Leeds and London-based company, established in 1984, offers qual and quant services to a wide range of clients in sectors such as retail, food and drink, finance, FMCG, leisure, health and beauty, and children's research.

O'Connell has been promoted to the role of Director, having joined the firm in 2007. She previously worked as an SRE at Research International and at SPA Future Thinking, prior to which she was an RE at GfK Martin Hamblin. Since 2002, she has focused on qual research, gaining experience in shopper research, category management, concept positioning and optimisation.

Gowing originally joined rdsi as a new graduate in 2005, left in 2008 to join Intrepid and then work at Hall & Partners as an Account Director, and re-joined rdsi last year as an Associate Director. His recent focus has been on finance and technology.

Kat Copsey took up the position of AD at rdsi in 2008, and has now been promoted to Research Director. Before joining, she was an SRE at Principles Agency.

Victoria Henderson, Sam Bannister, Anna Loughran and Caroline Hughes have all been promoted to Research Manager. Henderson joined the firm in 2010, with eighteen months' qual and quant research experience from a placement with Leeds-based Principles Research; Bannister has been with the company since last year, having previously worked at Leeds-based marketing services group Brass; Loughran has been a member of the Quantitative team since 2009, prior to which she was a Sales Executive at publishing house Phaidon Press; and Hughes joined in 2010 after spells at the Audit Commission and RBA Research.

Karen Beardon steps up to the role of Research Director with rdsi-owned Field Initiatives, where she has worked since 1998.

Finally Aimee Gibson and Suzy Clemo become Senior Research Executives in the London office. Gibson joined the company in 2010, after completing her Master's in Cognitive Neuroscience at Durham University, while Clemo joined last year after completing a six month internship in the research department at Electric Word.
