Ratings Research Specialist Opens in Nashville

Music and media writer, researcher and analyst Jeff Green is launching a new Nashville-based firm called Stone Door Media Lab, which will provide ratings research, digital media consumption analytics, market analysis and business intelligence for the entertainment sector.

Green (pictured) has a 32-year background in the sector, having previously held senior roles at music publications Radio & Records (R&R) and Music & Media; film production firm Film House; the Country Music Association; and the American Music Association. Most recently, he served as VP of Operations at radio trade publication Country Aircheck, prior to which he was an independent writer and researcher for broadcast publications produced by ratings giant Arbitron.

In an interview with Radio Ink magazine, Green said that one of his firm's main projects will be conducting four annual national radio studies for Arbitron, while also helping the company's clients with ratings analysis.

Additionally, the new company will provide clients in research, the entertainment industry and digital media with trend information based on historical data; and will regularly publish industry research findings.

Operations will commence on September 17th, when Green will be joined by researcher Lauren Virshup.

Green comments: 'Our goal is to extract meaningful information from the deluge of data by collaborating with experts from many creative, business and academic sources. Together, we plan to identify meaningful revenue opportunities by determining correlations and causality of specific efforts undertaken by traditional and digital media, artists, labels, corporate marketers and social media service providers.'
