Portland, OR-based qual research software developer Revelation has announced a text visualization and visual search tool, Word Trees, which it says will speed up analysis for online studies.
The tool is integrated within the company's Revelation Project qual platform, and avoids the need for users to export data to another tool to conduct content analysis.
Revelation says its new offering goes 'beyond' word clouds, which only show frequency of mentions, by revealing 'all the different contexts in which a word or phrase appears within a body of text'. Visuals can be filtered by participant, activity, segment and other options.
CEO Steve August says the tool is a 'category first' and comments: 'Collection is only half the battle in research - analysis and understanding is the other crucial component'.
The company, which also offers mobile device add-on Revelation Mobile and low-cost solution Revelation Express, was founded in 2007 and is online at www.revelationglobal.com .
