Localytics Raises $5.5m for App Marketing Platform

September 11 2012

US-based mobile app analytics provider Localytics has raised $5.5m in Series B financing, which it will use to expand its platform to address the problem of app subscribers who turn off 'push messaging', or who fail to provide e-mail addresses or phone numbers.

Raj AggarwalLocalytics' existing enterprise mobile app analytics platform supports more than 350 million iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, and Windows devices.

According to co-founder Raj Aggarwal (pictured), with the new financing from Polaris Venture Partners and existing investors, Localytics is investing in a new app marketing platform to optimize communication with app users when and where messages have the greatest impact.

By integrating app analytics and marketing, app publishers can then deliver targeted messages to users in real-time based on their app usage. Localytics will then use its analytics technology to measure the performance of each message, and adjust and tailor messages as required.
