Moon Joins Sands to Expand Neuromarketing Offering

US-based Sands Research Inc. (SRI) has appointed Dr Shane Moon as President, to help the firm evolve from its foundation as a neuromarketing/consumer neuroscience specialist, to a full service market research agency.

Dr Shane MoonMost recently, Moon (pictured) served as Director - Insight, Strategy & Planning for neuroscience-based full service market research firm Inner Truth in Melbourne, Australia. The company has been collaborating with SRI for the past two years on numerous TV advertising, product design, and shopper insights projects, using mobile eye tracking measurements and/or EEG with biometrics.

Alongside his new role at SRI, Moon will continue to be involved in the growth of the Australian company, while bringing in the additional expertise of customer-based insights expert Mark Fletcher from shopper research agency ShopScience.

Commenting on Moon's appointment, Sands' Chairman and Chief Science Officer Dr Stephen Sands said: 'Shane brings a unique combination of both a neuroscience background and an extensive career in market research. His expertise and international experience provides an outstanding opportunity for SRI and its clients as we expand our service offerings.'

Earlier in his career, Moon held senior market research and strategy positions at agribusiness products firm AWB/Landmark, shopper insight marketing consultancy mext, and ad agency BadjarOgilvy. Prior to this, he worked as a neuroscientist researching brain neurotransmitters and their effect on Olympic team athletes' sporting performance; a forensic psychologist in a maximum security prison; and a clinical psychologist working with individuals suffering from a range of personality disorders.
