Lithium Buys Conversation Analyst Social Dynamx

October 10 2012

US-based social networking solutions firm Lithium Technologies has acquired Social Dynamx, whose platform enables clients to analyse and respond to social media conversations in real-time. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mike BetzerLithium provides 'social customer relationship management' (SCRM) solutions, to enable clients to create and manage their own social media customer networks, while its Lithium Insights analytics tool measures and benchmarks the 'health' of online communities. In 2010, the company acquired social media monitoring company Scout Labs.

A new service, 'Lithium Social Web', has been created on the back of the acquisition, promising clients the ability to serve their customers on a variety of social media channels including Twitter and Facebook; respond to their needs; and enlist them as brand advocates or experts.

Lithium plans to maintain Social Dynamx's Austin, Texas office and keep on all its employees, while Social Dynamx CEO Mike Betzer (pictured) will become a member of Lithium's executive team, leading the newly merged business.

Rob Tarkoff, Lithium President and CEO, comments: 'The addition of Social Dynamx to the Lithium platform reinforces and extends our ability to help brands drive down service costs and increase customer satisfaction and engagement by bringing community experts into the dialogue earlier.'
