October 23 2012

Ipsos MediaCT Jordan has launched a study to measure and analyze the media consumption habits of Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza.

Tablets... but not of stone: new tech in the cradle of civilisationThe first National Media Analysis (NMA) study, which was conducted in September, included print media across daily, weekly and monthly publications; as well as the Internet, radio and television. Additionally, the study analyzed applications on computers, mobiles, and other new technology trends.

Around 2,200 Palestinian citizens aged fifteen years and above were interviewed last month. Sample is representative according to age, sex and residential area, and is grossed up to the total population using census info from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

Ipsos says the study shows the 'huge change' of consumption habits as Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza shift from using traditional media to digital media via a wide variety of platforms such as tablets and smart phones.
