451 Hires Ring to Lead Global IT Team

In New York, market analyst and data tool provider 451 Research has appointed Dr Katy Ring to head its global IT Services research and advisory team.

451 provides insight services to clients across the enterprise IT sector, through a range of published research, deep-dive reports, data tools and market sizing research, as well as through conferences and events.

Ring (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience in the IT industry. Most recently, she led K2 Advisory, which supplies research for CIOs. Prior to this, she spent twelve years at Ovum Research covering emerging software and services markets, while also developing the firm's Outsourcing Practice. Earlier in her career, Ring was a journalist for several publications including Computer Weekly and Computergram, and she was a founding editor of Software Futures.

In her new role, she will lead a team which is part of 451 Research's CloudScape Practice, providing insight and advice, and analysis targeting cloud practitioners.
