AMR Australia Promotes Freedman to MD

December 13 2012

Research consultancy and STW Group subsidiary AMR Australia has promoted Oliver Freedman to the role of Managing Director, following the departure of Gary Wilkinson, who has left to set up his own agency, Bliss Point Research.

Oliver FreedmanAMR specialises in online research and provides analysis of a wide range of Australian markets. In 2010, parent firm STW separated AMR's data collection services from its market research offering through the launch of a standalone agency called Touchpoint Research Australia.

Freedman (pictured), who joined the firm in 2003, most recently served as General Manager. Prior to this, he was Research Director at Harris Interactive for more than five years. In his new role, he will take charge of AMR's offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, while overseeing the organisation's Reputation Practice. His focus for 2013 will be to extend AMR's areas of speciality to include telcos, utilities, finance, transport and social, while further expanding into the FMCG sector.

STW CEO Michael Connaghan comments: 'Oliver is a talented and driven research professional with strong client relationships and we are extremely pleased that he has agreed to take this important next step.'

Replacing Freedman as General Manager is Mathew Densten, who joined AMR in September from TNS Hong Kong, where he led the Consumer Sector. Prior to this, he worked as Director of Social Research at TNS Canberra. Freedman replaces Wilkinson, who joined the group in 1995 and had served as MD since 2000.
