Italian and Russian MR Associations Join efamro

Italian and Russian MR trade bodies Assirm and OIROM are the latest to join european research federation efamro.

Andrew CannonAssirm (the Italian association for market, social, and opinion research) was founded in 1991 and represents 50 research businesses, while OIROM (the Russian Association for Market and Opinion Research) was founded in 2003 and represents 20 companies.

Through the new memberships, efamro (European Federation of Associations of Market Research Organisations) now connects more than 1,000 research businesses in sixteen countries, accounting for 31% of the global research industry, or EUR 7.4 billion. Adding in its partners in the Global Research Business Network brings the totals to 37 associations and 3,500 businesses on five continents.

President Andrew Cannon comments: 'For the last twenty years, the efamro network has connected associations and their member companies across Europe, working to promote and advance the business of research. The expansion of our network in the last 12 months shows that our mission is more important than ever and we are delighted to be joined by Assirm and OIROM.'

Last year, new efamro members included: The Belgian Federation of Market Research Institutes (Febelmar); the Swiss Market and Social Research Association (vsms-asms); AIMRO (the Association of Irish Market Research Organisations); BAMOR (the Bulgarian Association of Marketing and Opinion Researchers); Polish MR association OFBOR; and Lithuanian body LRSTA.
