NY Office for Australian Software Firm Q

April 5 2013

Sydney, Aus-based Q Research Software is to open an office in New York later this month, and has appointed former Illuminas SRE Steven Kawalek to lead it.

Q was launched in 2007 and is part of Numbers International, a company which also offers automated reporting package Data Cracker. The firm says the new location will serve as a sales and technical support hub for the software, following its recent exponential growth in the US and UK. The latest version of the package was released in February and features online dashboards; TURF, 3-D and 4-D tables; and new mapping algorithms.

Kawalek worked as an Associate at The Harrison Group in CT, USA from 2008, focusing on custom research in CPG, technology and gaming; then moved to Illuminas Global in New York in 2011, running the office's data analysis as well as many of its quant field operations.

Marketing Director Matilda Sarah says of the expansion: 'We are delighted at how quickly the USA and UK have embraced Q. Most of the interest has been generated purely by word-of-mouth. We are very lucky to have a vocal user base who are always happy to extol the virtues of Q'.
