Thumbspeak's Wiltse to Lead Tween Fashion Community

In the US, Thumbspeak founder Dean Wiltse has joined online 'tween' fashion insights community FashionPlaytes as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Dean WiltseEstablished in 2008 by Hasbro Interactive's previous Marketing Director Sarah McIlroy, FashionPlaytes' FPgirl.com provides a platform through which 'Gen Z girls' can create custom clothing, crowd-source designs and 'share insights'. The community currently has more than 700,000 members.

Wiltse (pictured) joins with 25 years of experience focused on the online community, web-based data collection and EFM sectors. Most recently, he set up DIY mobile measurement agency Thumbspeak, which he sold to online sample exchange Cint in 2011. Prior to this, he served as Chairman and CEO of Vovici, and CEO and President of Greenfield Online.

Commenting on his appointment, Wiltse says: 'As the first fashion and style platform to merge commerce and community for this demographic, there's an incredible opportunity to become the social destination for tween girls and most sought-after partner for any brand focused on connecting with this highly elusive demographic.'

Separately, Matt Landau - previously VP, Software Development at Oracle - has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer.
