OnePoll Buys Response Fusion

May 17 2013

In the UK, OnePoll, which specialises in conducting online polls for PR purposes, has acquired London-based opinion polling agency Response Fusion for 'a six-figure sum'.

John SewellResponse Fusion was previously owned by Mehmet Xhambazi, whose background includes stints at Atomik Research, The iD Factor and ORC International. The firm offers a range of online fieldwork options for ad hoc, trackers, recruitment and customer surveys, as well as a full service package. Through the acquisition, its panel will be expanded, along with the range of rewards it makes available to respondents.

OnePoll CEO John Sewell (pictured) says that as a result of the deal, OnePoll will grow its own business, specialist mums, youth and over-50s panels, which currently have around100,000 members, while expanding into the European market. His firm also plans to develop schemes that will enable panellists to donate to charities in return for completing surveys.

In addition, the company will develop a range of new qualitative and community-based research products, and bolster its mobile research capabilities.

'We have proven time and again how powerful the role of original research is to the news agenda in the UK and so we know this combination of two of the country's biggest players in the field will create a major force,' adds Sewell.

Bristol and London-based OnePoll is part of PR and market research group 72 Point and independent press agency SWNS.
