$15m for HR Big Data Firm Visier

May 31 2013

Workforce analytics company Visier has secured $15m in a series B round of funding, and says it will look to develop more new technology and spread its geographical footprint.

The new round, which adds to $9m previously raised, was led by Summit Partners, with participation from repeat investor Foundation Capital.

Visier was founded in 2010 and is based in Vancouver with offices in San Francisco. Its software takes large amounts of HR data and presents analysis via a user-friendly interface. This promises clients similar rewards to those touted by IBM in its announcement yesterday of new workforce-related big data software and services. Visier's home page asks: 'What if you knew which of your top talent was most at risk of leaving?'

CEO and co-founder John Schwarz, previously CEO of Business Objects SA, acquired by SAP in 2007, says the new funds 'will accelerate the release of new product offerings, continue to drive innovation in analytics, and grow market share through international expansion.'
