New Leader for media control GfK International

In Germany, former Ebiquity MD Mathias Giloth has joined media control GfK International as Managing Director, replacing Ulrike Altig who is leaving the company next month.

Mathias GilothBased in Baden Baden, the venture was founded in 2003 by GfK and music chart tracking firm media control. Parts of the latter's media monitoring, analysis and evaluation business were subsequently integrated into the new company, which provides a daily overview of consumers' listening, gaming, watching and reading habits, and identifies trends in the entertainment market. Last month, GfK acquired the remainder of the firm.

Giloth (pictured) joins from media and marketing analytics firm Ebiquity, where he served as MD for Germany. Prior to this he was MD at Thomson Media Control, VP Marketing Intelligence at BenQ Mobile, and VP Market Research at Siemens Mobile. Earlier, he worked for BBDO Consulting.

He will succeed Altig who joined media control in 1984, and who has served as MD for media control GfK International since 2003. In a statement, GfK said that Altig is leaving the company in July 'at her own request'.
