Cello Reports 'Robust' Half Year

July 17 2013

UK-based insight and marketing group Cello has reported 'robust trading' for the first six months to 30 June 2013, and says its Consumer arm returned to revenue growth in the period while its Health division continued its expansion.

Mark ScottIn a preliminary statement ahead of the group's full interim results to be published on September 18, Cello said its Consumer division had returned to growth 'as expected', driven by digital and social media services, including the Pulsar TRAC product recently launched by the company's co-creation agency Face. Although the Consumer business is more UK-centered than the Health division, it recently opened a new office in Los Angeles to complement existing offices in San Francisco and New York, and also took on enlarged facilities in Singapore, and a new office in Hong Kong.

International revenues at Cello Health have been outpacing UK revenues, and now comprise the majority of the division's activity, with the largest market being in the US. The business has now opened an office in Chicago through its Insight Health US business, while launching a US-based early product commercialization practice with a focus on helping clients address market access issues.

Having acquired pharma researcher and communications consultancy Mash Health in January, Cello says it remains actively engaged in seeking acquisitions to complement its offer, while retaining its primary focus on continued organic expansion.

For the full year, the Board said it is confident that the group will trade in line with expectations. CEO Mark Scott (pictured) comments: 'Our focused strategy continues to deliver the objectives we have set ourselves, giving us a compelling value proposition for clients and a motivating setting for our professionals. We will continue to invest in the internationalization of the core offer in our two divisions, enabling us to win ever larger contracts of a more continuous nature.'
