Radius Buys Probit Research

September 30 2013

Radius Global Market Research has strengthened its offer for high-tech and innovation research with the acquisition of San Antonio, TX-based Probit Research. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Radius Buys Probit ResearchRadius, headquartered in New York, is one of the USA's largest independent MR firms, and employs more than a hundred people both in the States and Europe.

Probit, which was founded in 2002 and also has offices in Austin, TX and Seattle, WA, will maintain its brand name. Known for customised leading-edge techniques and experimental approaches, the firm employs PhD level staff each with more than ten years' experience. Founder and president, Michael Patterson, PhD, will now become Senior Vice President at Radius and will continue to lead Probit.

Radius has been in expansive mood this year - in May it acquired Florida-based Profile Marketing Research, and earlier in the year it opened offices in Chicago, Detroit, and Princeton, NJ.

MD Chip Lister comments: 'we know that building solutions that directly drive our clients' business performance requires a deep understanding of the industries we serve. The Probit team of PhD level marketing scientists will bring an outstanding level of global business experience to marketers, especially in the dynamic high-tech and innovation sectors.' Patterson says the two firms have 'a long history of developing solutions for industry leaders worldwide' and adds: 'This degree of seasoned experience allows our combined organizations to uniquely deliver marketers a clear view of the dynamics of success in their industries.'
