The global MR industry's daily paper since 2000

We are Fifteen

November 28 2013

Hard to believe, but on Friday 29th November, DRNO's publisher MrWeb is celebrating 15 years in business.

How the logo looked when we launchedMrWeb began as a collection of links - to UK research agency home pages, viewing facilities and consultants, and to desk research resources industry by industry - and an index of jobs. The arrival of the first job ad on this date marked our official start - tho' rather oddly we have no record or recollection of who sent it! Daily Research News was added in March 2000 and now has around 15,000 subscribers, having grown strongly in 2013.

In the early days the jobs index - all of it including emails to registered candidates - used to be done entirely manually, and while moving office this week we've come across job ads that were sent by fax, and even in the post. These days the listing has grown to include around 10,000 ads a year and cover most parts of the world, with particular concentrations in the UK, US, Australia, SE and East Asia and the Middle East - and it's a while since anything came in any other way than by email.

The business is changing, with corporate banner advertising making up a much larger share of our income, 'though the jobs index continues to thrive, with a larger number of advertisers in the last three years than at any time previously. DRNO news email slots are generally sold out all year - and are booking now, so if you want to get your company, or a new product or webinar, in front of research professionals worldwide, now's a good time to get in touch. That doesn't mean however that you can't just get in touch to wish us a Happy Birthday, if you want!

Thanks as ever to all our readers, clients and correspondents who make it all possible.
