December 10 2013

Online community and survey technology provider Toluna has added geo-fencing capabilities to its TolunaMobile Diary app, enabling users to target respondents based on their location.

Carol HaneyThe app, which was launched in the summer, gathers feedback on consumer activities in real-time from Apple and Android phones and tablets, and can be used for a variety of diary, experience, tracking and real-time studies. Features include geolocation, flexible presentation of questions and responses, uploading of images, a UPC barcode scanner, and automatic prompts for users to enter information at specific locations and events.

The tool, which is available in multiple countries and more than 30 different languages, can now be used to push surveys to respondents as they enter a specific location or geo-fence.

Carol Haney (pictured), Toluna's SVP of Group Product Marketing, comments: 'The ability to push surveys to Toluna's panelists based on their location presents limitless opportunities for in-the-moment market research. The app is ideal for any brand interested in capturing in-the-moment feedback through diaries, ethnography, and tracking across diverse topics in nearly any language worldwide.'
