Decipher Adds Rich Media Feature to Beacon

January 24 2014

US-based research tech firm Decipher has added new mobile capabilities to its Beacon survey and reporting platform, to enable the uploading of rich media such as videos and photos via smartphones.

Kristin LuckBeacon was launched in 2010, integrating Decipher's data collection capabilities within a do-it-yourself graphical interface. The following year, mobile capabilities were added which detect the type of device each respondent is using, and then deliver an appropriate and optimized survey style relating to that device.

Researchers can now add features such as in-the-moment online diaries, in-store shopping experience recordings, and the integration of photos and videos taken by respondents. The n--ew features also enable the collection of geolocation data, and the expansion of the number of dynamic question types available for the mobile survey user.

Company President Kristin Luck (pictured) comments: 'We've made it easy for clients to integrate a mobile offering into their survey outreach - and have those results feed seamlessly into their overall research practice. This means that they are getting a true, platform agnostic picture of respondent preferences in order to make better informed business decisions.'
