Purple WiFi Expands to the US

March 20 2014

UK-based consumer targeting firm Purple WiFi has expanded to the US, where it has appointed media and technology exec Anne Lakstigala as Vice President, Americas, to direct the company's sales activity from Silicon Valley.

Anne LakstigalaOldham, UK-based Purple WiFi provides a solution at retail, hospitality and leisure venues, giving consumers free WiFi access through their social media accounts. Real-time analytics are gathered through the firm's 'Purple Portal', to understand who is visiting and using the service, how long they are online, and their age, gender and any other relevant information that they provide through their social networking profile. Resulting data can be used to target consumers with personalised coupons and e-mail campaigns.

Lakstigala (pictured) joins from Disney-owned Lucasfilm where she served as Director of Worldwide Distribution, prior to which she was a Business Development Consultant at Adobe, and held senior roles at AT&T. During her career, Lakstigala has also held senior business development roles at AltaVista and The Walt Disney Company.

In her new role, she will support existing relationships with resellers and distributors. CEO Gavin Wheeldon comments: 'We wanted someone on the ground there who truly understands channel relationships, the market and how our product fits. Anne has such a breadth of experience of partnerships and licensing within the key sectors we are most keen to target that she is perfect for the role and we are excited about the way she will be able to build the brand in the US and further afield.'
