Cello Health Insight in Staff Development Push

June 20 2014

UK research firm Cello Health Insight has launched a continuous staff development programme called BUILD, and promoted Leyla Itani and Helen Porter to lead the initiative.

Leyla Itani and Helen PorterThe company, created in February in a restructure by marketing services group Cello, offers global marketing research and customer insight from offices in London, New York, Chicago and Switzerland. The BUILD programme specifies seven core skill sets, each made up of as many as thirteen separate training 'building blocks' which are designed to be achieved across a complete career path, from Research Assistant to Director. The programme also covers specialist research skills such as moderation and facilitation, and wider skills such as people management and business development. It is available both on and off-line and training is delivered through a combination of in-house staff and external specialists.

Itani joined the firm in 2006 as a Researcher, before moving into a learning and development role in 2010. She is currently undertaking studies in Professional Leadership Coaching as part of her professional goal of obtaining her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) qualification. Porter, who joined in 1999, serves in the learning and development role, while continuing her work in developing methodologies and in-depth qualitative approaches.

Commenting on the BUILD roll-out, Joint CEO Jane Shirley said: 'Specialist recruitment is getting tougher, with several major agencies all competing over a limited number of candidates. Investing resource in internal learning and development initiatives like BUILD is one way in which forward-thinking organisations like Cello Health Insight are responding to this challenge and ensuring we can recruit and retain the best candidates.'
