On Device Names New Commercial Director

July 3 2014

London-based mobile research and sample specialist On Device Research has appointed former SPA Future Thinking exec William Ullstein as Commercial Director.

William UllsteinOn Device, which was founded in 2009 by former M:Metrics execs Alistair Hill and Tim Cleminson, uses proprietary technology to deliver targeted data from profiled global respondents. Last year, the firm opened an office in Singapore, following a partnership with Millward Brown, through which it provides data collection via mobile Internet across the AMAP region. More recently, the company opened an office in Dubai, led by former Ipsos director Nader Kobeissi.

Ullstein (pictured) joins from full service agency SPA Future Thinking, where he latterly served as Group Business Development Director, responsible for new client sales, marketing and PR across the group, and working with the firm's in-house think tank to develop new, innovative research methods. Prior to this he worked at Munro Global as Director of Innovation, having begun his MR career as a graduate trainee at FDS, where he later worked as Research Director.

In his new role, Ullstein will be responsible for developing the firm's commercial strategy, leading the commercial team, and developing new business.

Hill says the appointment shows the firm's commitment to meet its aggressive growth targets, and comments: 'Our expansion into Singapore and Dubai highlights the global interest in mobile research and I'm very excited about Will taking the lead in building out our commercial team in the UK.'
