Launch for 'Listening' Firm Prompt Social

UK-based digital PR agency Prompt has launched a social media division and service called Prompt Social, through which it will analyze online discussions and provide guidance relating to customers, competitors, and target audiences.

Hazel ButtersThe new division will use hashtag analysis - with a database of 300 billion tweets - and monitoring of LinkedIn, combining machine learning and advanced linguistics to measure attitudes across social media interactions.

Prompt CEO Hazel Butters (pictured) comments: 'There are brands and companies spending millions on campaigns, but not setting aside any thought or budget to evaluate the discussions of target audiences beforehand, or measure the effectiveness of their campaign - it's nonsensical. It's like spending a fortune on a focus group, then never asking them a single question.
