Nielsen Opens Office in Qingdao

Nielsen has opened an office in Qingdao, in Eastern China, to support clients based in the coastal cities of eastern Shandong Province.

Nielsen, which moved into China in 1984 and has existing offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu, says the new office demonstrates its commitment to the Chinese market and its clients.

Yan Xuan, President of the firm in Greater China explains: 'Recently, with the rapid growth in Qingdao's economy, the city - which is also known as 'the city of brands' - has accumulated a diverse group of large enterprises including global, state-owned and private companies. Opening a branch here will help us seize more opportunities and provide better service, as well as make a contribution to the local economy and society.'

The announcement follows last week's news that the firm has partnered with e-Commerce business Alibaba to provide a combined view of Chinese consumers' online and off-line buying behavior.
