GroupM Creates Chief Data Office Role

GroupM, the global media investment management operation within WPP, has promoted Harvey Goldhersz to the new role of Chief Data Officer and CEO of GroupM Analytics, and Phil Cowdell to replace him North America CEO of its MediaCom subsidiary.

Goldhersz has been CEO of MediaCom North America - the role now taken by Cowdell - since 2011, and has also filled the role of Vice Chairman and Worldwide COO for a decade since 2004. Prior to this he was founder and CEO of MediaCom Digital and CEO of Beyond Interactive.

Cowdell is currently President of Client Services for GroupM, and prior to this was CEO and then Chairman of Mindshare North America. In his new role he will work alongside MediaCom's US CEO Sasha Savic and Jamie Edwards, CEO of MediaCom Canada.
