FacialNetwork Hires Tech Industry Veteran as COO

In the US, cloud-based facial recognition software provider FacialNetwork has appointed Satya Yenigalla as Chief Operating Officer.

Las Vegas-based FacialNetwork is the developer of a platform called NameTag, which can spot a face using Google Glass' camera, send it wirelessly to a server, compare it to millions of records, and return a match complete with a name, additional photos and social media profiles. The firm is about to release a suite of cross-platform facial recognition apps that can be used across mobile, wearables and tablets.

Yenigalla (pictured), who joins with more than twenty years' experience, most recently worked as Business Development Executive at Samsung SDS, where he developed overall strategies for cloud and big data initiatives, as well as for enterprise software and smart infrastructure solutions. Before joining the company in 2002, he set up his own business intelligence and predictive analytics company Magma Solutions; was Senior Director of Marketing at Cloudscape (now part of IBM); Director of Marketing at Oracle, and a Senior Manager at Sybase.

In his new role, Yenigalla reports to CEO Kevin Alan, who comments: 'I was incredibly impressed with Satya's experience, talents, and network of influencers in Silicon Valley and around the world. He has been a key part of so many successful companies that when he chose to join FacialNetwork full-time, I knew we would achieve escape velocity.'
