BDRC Opens in Jakarta, Appoints in Asia

UK-based full service research provider BDRC has opened an office in Jakarta, Indonesia, and expanded Piers Lee's role to include oversight of the new operation. The firm has also added two new members of staff to its senior management team in Asia.

BDRC Asia Indonesia is the group's fourth office in the Asia Pacific region, following Singapore, Beijing and Sydney. The new office will be led by Lee, who re-joined the company in 2011 to oversee the newly launched Singapore office. He previously set up and served as MD of Kadence Singapore, was General Manager of Synovate's Financial Services and B2B divisions, and worked at BDRC as a Research Manager.

The firm has also hired Shawn Roy as Regional Head of Qualitative Research at BDRC Asia. He previously worked for IMRB, TNS, Nielsen and the JWT Group, and his experience spans India, Indonesia and Singapore, with a specific focus on NPD and innovation research, consumer trends, and concept development. In his new role, he is tasked with expanding the Qualitative practice for BDRC Asia's various offices across the region.

Anthony Dobson joins as a Director in Singapore, to spearhead business development across the region, with a focus on the media, entertainment and culture sectors. Earlier, he worked at Discovery Communications in Singapore and the US, where he was SVP, Corporate Marketing & Insights; and he was Regional Research Director of Turner Broadcasting in Hong Kong, and Managing Partner of Fusion Research & Analytics in London.
