Former GfK East Africa MD Joins GeoPoll

US technology company Mobile Accord has hired former GfK East Africa MD John Muthee as Vice President of Business Development, Africa, for its real-time mobile survey platform GeoPoll.

John MutheeLaunched last year, the GeoPoll platform reaches a network of more than 200 million users across twenty countries. Through partnerships with telecom providers and a multimodal platform powered by text, voice and web-based communications, the firm enables companies and organizations to gather insights on anything from preferences on consumer goods to election transparency.

Muthee (pictured) joins from GfK East Africa, where he previously served as MD in Nairobi, overseeing the Consumer Choices research division. Before this, he was Regional Manager at GfK Marketing Services, and earlier he worked for The Steadman Group as Country Manager for Tanzania.

In his new role, he will be based in the firm's recently opened Nairobi office, and work alongside Wavinya Kiagiri in Kenya, Matt Angus-Hammond in South Africa, and Gordon Grant Biaku in Ghana.
