KISSMetrics Names New CEO

October 21 2014

In San Francisco, 'person-based' analytics platform KISSmetrics has appointed customer analytics specialist Brian Kelly as Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Will Hodgman, who left earlier in the year to set up a new business.

Brian KellyLaunched in 2008, KISSmetrics offers a web analytics platform to connect individuals' data across multiple devices or browsers, and provide details about a person's activity - where they come from, what they do, and whether they purchase. This platform automatically pulls A/B testing data together and helps identify which variants improve business, and metrics can be broken down by marketing channel.

Kelly (pictured) joins from CRM intelligence specialist InsideView, where he served as CMO, prior to which he co-founded mobile loyalty app firm Stampt (acquired by Mobitiv), and was CEO of cloud-based analytics platform Quantivo (acquired by Aggregate Knowledge). He began his career at Teradata, analyzing customer data for retail and financial institutions, before building analytics tools at Intrepid and PeopleSoft.

In a blog, KISSMetrics said of the appointment: 'One of our core values is to always look for ways to improve, and we love working with the best people in our field to help us raise the bar of what's possible. Brian understands that insights are the key to optimize marketing, and that analytics must show you how to improve, not force you to spend hours sifting through a confusing mix of data hoping to find something relevant. We're thrilled to have him on our team.'

Hodgman left in May to work on new business projects in the digital video space. Prior to joining KISSMetrics in 2012, he founded Ad Relevance and M:Metrics and was EVP International at comScore.
