Engine CEO Peter Scott to Stand Down

Peter Scott, Chairman and CEO of marcoms group Engine, is leaving the company following its recent acquisition by ORC's Chicago-based backers Lake Capital.

Peter ScottEngine offers advertising, behavioural economics, branding, PR and social media management, while its data strategy agency Fuel provides services such as customer insights, campaign evaluation, web analytics and marketing mix analysis. The company has offices in London, Edinburgh, Brussels, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York and San Francisco.

In August, the firm was acquired by Lake Capital, and it has since partnered with sister agencies ORC International and marketing agency Trailer Park to create what the group describes as a 'new breed' of marketing services agency.

Scott (pictured) co-founded Engine in 2005, having previously set up WCRS in 1979, before it went on to become one of the UK's biggest ad agencies. In a statement, an Engine spokesman said of Scott's departure 'This follows the recent transaction and careful thought about the future strategy and direction of the group. We thank Peter for all he has done for Engine and wish him well with his future ventures.'
