RetailNext Hires Analytics Veteran Marc Dietz

San Jose, CA-based in-store big data analytics specialist RetailNext has hired former IBM marketer Marc Dietz as Chief Marketing Officer.

Marc DietzRetailNext measures the behaviour of more than one billion shoppers each year using more than 65,000 sensors situated in brick-and-mortar retail stores and malls. In the summer, the firm completed a $30m round of financing, which it is using to expand operations in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and other, emerging markets.

Dietz (pictured) joins from IBM, where he worked for the past decade, most recently as Vice President, Marketing in charge of worldwide marketing for the company's SaaS portfolio. He also worked in support of multiple acquisitions including consumer demand management software and analytics firmDemandTec, web analytics specialist Coremetrics, and digital marketing technology provider Silverpop. Prior to this, he was Director of Marketing and Product Management at CRS Retail Systems/Found Inc, and he worked in management at Intel Corporation.
