River Co-founder Joins SPA

In the UK, River Research co-founder and Partner Julian Kenway has left the company after six years to join SPA Future Thinking as its new Commercial Director, leading business development across all areas of the company.

Kenway (pictured) worked at Illuminas before leaving with colleagues Joe Brown and Nick Cornish to set up River.

SPA's specialist areas include media and technology, shopper insight, concept and product development, and research among children and employees. The firm was formed in 2010 by the merger of SPA and Future Thinking, turned over around £20m in 2013 and has offices in the UK, France and Italy. In September it announced it was restructuring its senior management team, promoting Richard Barton to Group Managing Director, with four new divisional MDs - Steve King, Neil Aulton, Chris Bland and Claudia Strauss - working under him.
