Xaxis Names China MD

WPP's audience profiling and targeting division Xaxis has named Mickey Zhang as Managing Director in China.

Mickey ZhangXaxis was formed in 2011, to bring together WPP's global ad buying capabilities with a 'colossal' database, and offer clients the 'world's largest pool of audience profiles'. The division now combines proprietary technology, data assets and media relationships with a team of audience analysts, data scientists and software engineers, and works with more than 2,700 clients across 33 markets in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Zhang (pictured) joins from WPP's media investment agency GroupM, where she served as MD of E-Commerce and Search. Prior to this, she led vertical sales teams at Google and Baidu, having begun her career at eBay as a Digital Marketing Analyst responsible for all marketing-related data mining and data-driven business.

In her new role, Zhang is responsible for leading Xaxis operations throughout China and overseeing the expansion of programmatic offerings in the regional market, while also managing GroupM search and e-commerce.
