P&G Research Veteran Joins comScore Board

January 16 2015

Digital measurement specialist comScore has appointed Procter & Gamble (P&G) research veteran Joan Lewis to its Board of Directors, and as a member of its Audit Committee. She replaces Jeffrey Ganek, who stepped down after serving on the Board since 2008.

Joan LewisLewis (pictured) worked for consumer packaged goods giant P&G in the US and Europe for more than 27 years; most recently serving as the SVP of Global Consumer and Market Knowledge, leading the group's insights and consumer analytics functions. Before this, she held a number of other leadership positions in the market research division, including VP, Global Operations; Research Manager, Healthcare Division; and Associate Manager, Paper Division. During her career, she served on the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) Board, as well as on the Singapore Industry Advisory Board for Consumer Insights.

comScore CEO Serge Matta comments on Lewis' appointment: 'Not only is Joan's expertise in market research and digital media and analytics invaluable, but she has extensive knowledge of the global complexities associated with the work we do at comScore. She also has a keen understanding of the current trends that are both influencing our business and redefining the ways in which media is bought and sold. This makes her perspective a welcome one.'

Ganek steps down after six years on the Board. He previously served as SVP and MD of Communications Industry Services at tech firm Lockheed Martin, prior to which, he was VP - Asia Operations for comms service provider Global TeleSystems Group. Earlier in his career, he was VP of Marketing at satellite comms specialist GTE Spacenet, Director of Marketing and Corporate Development at telecoms company MCI Communications Corporation, and he held management positions at AT&T.
