Manthan Raises Funds to 'Consumerize' Analytics Tools

February 5 2015

Manthan Systems, which provides business intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions for the retail and consumer goods industries, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series D funding, some of which it says will help to 'consumerize' its analytics portfolio.

Atul JalanThe Bangalore-based firm, which also has offices in the US, UK, Singapore, Philippines and UAE, offers the ARC Retail Business Intelligence suite, which comprises analysis tools covering merchandising, customer data and supplier collaboration. Manthan says its goal is to 'consumerize' analytics, using tools such as its Customer360 solution, which offers a math-driven engine to help clients engage with their customers, and map customer journeys across conventional, social and mobile media.

New funding has been led by Temasek and Norwest Venture Partners, and will be used to speed up the SaaS adoption of Manthan's product portfolio, expand its marketing globally, and for further product development. The investment will also fund new R&D activities at the firm's Manthan Labs facility, which has developed methodologies such as a next-best offer recommendation engine, a real-time capability for analytics, context-aware computing and triggering algorithms, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) interfaces, and enhanced visualization capabilities.

CEO Atul Jalan (pictured) comments: 'A few years ago, we decided to focus our energy on transforming analytics from decision-support to decision-making. To achieve our goal, the all-pervasive consumerization of analytics, we are leveraging artificial intelligence and NLP and moving into the realm of robotics and automated analytics.'
