Verve Gains Funds and Two Board Directors

London-based online community specialist Verve has received an undisclosed amount of series A funding in a round led by investment firm Subito Partners, whose founders Geoff Westmore and Neil Brown join the Verve Board.

Geoff Westmore and Neil BrownVerve was launched in 2008 by the founders of Research Now, Hall & Partners and the iD Factor - Andrew Cooper, Mike Hall and Jon Gumbrell respectively. Westmore is the former Chairman of Research Now, and was involved in setting up the business with Cooper and Chris Havemann in 2000. During his career, he has also held senior roles at Four Seasons Health Care and Le Meridien Hotels, and served as Global Head of Transaction Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Brown was previously Head of Financial Services at Apax Partners, and before this worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as Corporate Finance Partner. He has more than twenty years' experience of investing in growth businesses, and is also a director of a number of tech companies.

The new funding adds to the £0.75m round Verve raised from existing shareholders in 2012. In a statement, the company said: 'Geoff and Neil bring enormous experience in M&A and corporate finance to the Verve Board as well as a passion for working with rapidly growing companies.'
