March 16 2015

Santa Cruz, California-based SaaS business intelligence platform Looker has raised $30m in a Series B financing round.

Frank BienLooker is a web-based business intelligence platform with a proprietary data description language called LookML, allowing analysts or anyone in an organization to create and curate custom data. The platform was built to enable big data processing and use dialect-specific SQL and analytic functions from backend databases, and analyze all the datasets across an organization.

The firm's most recent funding round has been led by Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures), and existing investors Redpoint Ventures, First Round Capital and PivotNorth.

Looker CEO Frank Bien (pictured) comments: 'Meritech and its MD Rob Ward are known for picking the best success stories in BI. We're honored that they chose to invest in Looker, validating our quick growth and future outlook. Rob's industry insights and guidance will be invaluable, especially as Looker continues experiencing tremendous momentum.'

As well as its headquarters in Santa Cruz, the company has offices in San Francisco, New York and London and it is online at: www.looker.com .
