Location Marketer xAd Hires Key Personnel

March 23 2015

Location-based marketing specialist xAd has announced four senior hires: former Twitter exec Paul Gelb; former Facebook Director Lissette Fernandez; Reagan Nunnally, previously of Google; and James Davies, currently Chief Strategy Officer at outdoor ad firm Posterscope.

xAd says the big name hires reflect its gearing up for further growth after doubling its revenue in both 2013 and 2014.

Gelb, who joins as VP, Global Brands and Agencies, was most recently Head of Programmatic and Marketplace Development at Twitter, having served as Chief of Strategy at mobile ad network MoPub before its acquisition by the microblogging giant. Previously, he was VP and founder of the mobile practice at Razorfish.

Nunnally's new title is also VP, Global Brands and Agencies. She joins from Google where she spent 11 years on the US and Global Agency Sales team. Before this, she led digital sales teams at Viacom and CBS. She and Gelb will report to Scott Zalaznik, Head of Global, who joined xAd in October 2014 from Sprint.

Fernandez, who becomes xAd's VP, Global Account Management and Operations and reports to Sunil Kumar, Head of Monetization, joins after four years at Facebook where she was a Director of Account Management for Global Marketing Solutions. Before this, she led sales and account teams at firms including Razorfish and Univision.

Davies, xAd's new Head of Channel, EMEA, has spent eighteen years at Posterscope developing new approaches to Out-of-Home (OOH) media across multiple markets; spotting new data opportunities in mobile; and building applications to influence campaign planning & optimization. He reports to Theo Theodorou, Head of EMEA.

Founder and CEO Dipanshu 'D' Sharma says of the hires: 'In today's advertising landscape, Twitter is synonymous with real-time, Facebook is synonymous with social, and Google is synonymous with search. As location becomes a must-have for marketers, xAd is adding experienced leaders with unique backgrounds in growing new advertising categories in social, search, digital, out-of-home, and mobile to help build location as its own category and xAd as the leader.'

XAd, which says its global location marketplace 'allows nearly 1 million advertisers to reach 300 million unique devices in 300 billion mobile moments each month', is on the web at www.xad.com .
