Funds for TV Ad Tracking Specialist iSpot

Television ad tracking company iSpot.tv has announced a $21.9m Series B funding round, which it says will accelerate product development and launch, as well as recruitment.

The round was led by Insight Venture Partners, with participation from existing investor Madrona Venture Group, and adds to around $5.6m raised previously.

iSpot tracks where and when national TV ads are running, in real-time, and links each ad spot to digital response including social media activity, video views and search behavior. The service is used for competitive tracking and ad effectiveness measurement. Launched in 2012 by Sean Muller and based in Bellevue, WA, USA, it now has more than 60 staff, and a library of over 100,000 TV ads.

CEO Muller comments: 'Brands want to become more responsive with their TV campaigns and our data is the first stop. TV is changing rapidly and we are excited to bring on investment partners that share our vision for the future of TV and its measurement'.
