MRSS India Hires P&G Sensory Science Specialist

Full service agency MRSS India has appointed former P&G sensory scientist Swati Sawant as Vice President.

Swati SawantWith bases in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, MRSS India was founded in 2012 by its parent company Majestic MRSS, in partnership with former Nielsen MD Sarang Panchal. The firm offers Indian marketers local access to technology for consumer insight generation, and last year it partnered with Frankfurt-based Scent Analysis to form a joint venture called SA#M, which provides a multi-sensory research platform for projects in all areas of product and concept development.

Sawant (pictured) joins after more than 23 years at multinational consumer goods giant P&G, where she latterly served as Product Research Consultant. In this role, she set up and maintained numerous sensory research panels, including a housewives panel for detergent prototype testing; and had overall responsibility for qual consumer testing. Earlier, she was a Scientist working across multiple categories, set up an employee 'Weight Control Guidance Panel', and served as Asia Healthcare Sensory Leader.

Following the appointment, MRSS India will be offering a number of sensorial research and evaluation techniques, along with its neuroscience, eye tracking, facial coding and emotional measurement services. The firm is also planning to set up an Advisory Board of global sensory experts over the coming months. Commenting on Sawant's appointment, Patel said: 'We know Swati through her work and contribution to the market research industry in India. She has expertise in proactively working across multiple functions of marketing, R & D, product supply, regulatory and successfully defining and achieving business challenges'.
