WE tv Names VP of Research and Insights

In New York, digital cable and satellite television channel WE tv has appointed media researcher Stephanie Yates as Vice President of Research and Insights.

Stephanie YatesThe company, which is owned by AMC Networks, broadcasts to approximately 85.2 million households and offers a wide range of entertainment, including reality shows such as Marriage Boot Camp, and soaps such as Will and Grace. Yates (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' experience of programming and ad sales research and market analysis. Most recently, she was VP, Research (Programming and Ad Sales) at TV One, before which she worked at Nielsen Media Research for nearly seven years, latterly as VP / Group Account Manager. Earlier, she was a Senior Research Analyst at Turner Broadcasting.

In her new role, Yates will oversee the expansion and direction of WE tv's research efforts across every aspect of the network and across multiple platforms. This will include examining demographic performance and competitive trends to help maximize the network's scheduling, sales opportunities, creative marketing plans and distribution growth; plus the tracking of brand awareness and campaign performance.

She reports to Tom Ziangas, SVP Research and Insights for parent company, AMC Networks, who comments: 'Stephanie joins at a great moment as the network continues to expand its original programming slate and attract new viewers. Her experience and insights will help us further position WE tv as the premier destination for shows about real people and real relationships, a distinct and attractive position that will help us break through today's crowded content landscape'.
