NPD Group Hires IBM Veteran to Lead NA Sales Strategy

US-based retail tracking provider The NPD Group has hired IBM veteran Lori Gerber as Senior Vice President, Sales for North America.

Lori GerberGerber (pictured) joins after seventeen years at IBM, where she most recently served as Director of WW Systems and Channel Financing, with responsibility for financing the company's systems solutions, as well as driving new geography and product initiatives. Earlier, she was a Client Unit Executive in IBM's Sales and Distribution Group, in the Healthcare/Public Sector; and worked in Corporate Strategy during a one-year leadership development assignment.

In her new Port Washington, NY-based role, Gerber will lead and develop NPD's sales strategy, including for its new capabilities in advanced modeling and analytic services, and industry tracking and premium services spanning more than twenty industries in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

She reports to Tim Bush, Group President, Americas Commercial Business, who comments: 'Many people know NPD as the provider of sales data of record for their industries, but our business is transforming. While we continue to provide market data, we are now layering on new capabilities to help our clients to understand what drives the numbers. As we introduce new solutions for opportunity identification, marketing evaluation, and pricing, Lori's expertise will be an important asset to NPD and to our clients'.
