JWT Buys Controlling Stake in Middle Eastern Agency

WPP's J. Walter Thompson Company is to take a majority stake in Lebanon-based creative digital agency Cleartag, whose services include social media analysis, curation of online communities and user experience research.

Cleartag was founded in 2000 and employs around 65 people in Beirut and Dubai, with a focus on digital advertising services. Unaudited revenues for the year ended 31st December 2014 were $US 3.6m.

The company's proprietary technology includes a social media dashboard, and a post-centric sentiment analysis module using natural language processing to study sentiment. It also tracks clients' competiton and helps adjust strategy accordingly.
