Xaxis Expands Business to New Zealand

November 26 2015

WPP's audience profiling and targeting division Xaxis has expanded to New Zealand, where the new market will be overseen by Australia Managing Director, Esther Carlsen.

Esther CarlsenXaxis was formed in 2011, promising to bring together the global group's ad buying capabilities with a colossal database to offer clients the 'world's largest pool of audience profiles'. Through its latest expansion to New Zealand, the firm says it will provide marketers across the Tasman with its full suite of audience buying solutions. The move adds to the company's existing presence in the APAC region, where it has eighteen offices across fourteen markets, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Carlsen (pictured) will oversee the new business, having been with Xaxis since 2013, and previously worked for Yahoo!7 as Head of Sales - NSW and QLD. Before this, she held senior roles at totaltravel.com, ninemsn, and BSkyB.

Commenting on the launch, Carlsen said: 'After four successful years in Australia, our advertisers have seen the strong and consistent results that we have achieved through what is the first large-scale audience buying platform in the country. With client demand for a fully capable audience buying solution growing globally, the timing is perfect for an expansion into the New Zealand market, where we see a great opportunity for growth.'
