Burfitt Relocates to Run Kantar Media Thai TV Contract

Long-time Kantar Media employee Nick Burfitt has re-located from London to Singapore, to serve as Managing Director for Asia Pacific. He takes charge of the firm's recently awarded contract to supply multi-platform TV ratings in Thailand.

Nick BurfittBurfitt (pictured) has worked for TNS and Kantar Media for more than twenty years. Most recently, he served as Global Director for Audience Targeting, with overall responsibility for Kantar Media's return path data services running in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Europe and Africa. He also oversaw development of social media TV-related projects, including the global roll-out of the Kantar Twitter TV Ratings service.

His transfer coincides with Kantar Media being awarded a five-year contract to deliver official multi-platform TV ratings for Thailand. As part of this win, the company will set up a new office with TNS in Bangkok, where it will hire 100 staff to run the contract. The company has launched audience measurement services in Singapore and Malaysia, with digital ad monitoring soon to launch in Vietnam and Indonesia, providing competitor intelligence for the media industry.

In a statement, the firm said: 'Appointing one of the company's senior directors to oversee the new service reflects Kantar Media's commitment to clients in the region, and to Media Research Development Association and its stakeholders for the official Thailand TV measurement service'.
