December 24 2015

In the US, Data-as-a-Service company Qubole has appointed Jonathan Trail as its first Vice President of Customer Success, with a remit to help clients use the firm's offerings to drive successful business outcomes.

Jonathan TrailQubole's cloud-based platform processes huge volumes of unstructured and structured data, while offering features such as auto-scaled big data clusters, and integrated tool sets for data analysts, developers and business users. The firm was founded in 2011 by Ashish Thusoo and Joydeep Sen Sarma, creators of Facebook's big data infrastructure and Apache Hive.

Trail (pictured) joins with twenty years of experience in enterprise software implementation services. Most recently, he was VP of Application Delivery at analytics and big data platforms provider NICE Systems, in charge of a professional services delivery group of 100 consultants. He joined NICE in 2011 through the firm's acquisition of contact center performance management specialist Merced Systems, where he served as the Regional VP, Client Services. Trail joined Merced as the company's fourteenth employee, and helped expand its implementation and training functions internationally into the APAC and EMEA regions.

Thusoo comments: 'At the beginning of 2015, we started off with twenty customers, and we are now closing out the year with over 90. Jonathan has tremendous experience in providing strategic direction and empowering team members to continue improving and innovating products and services. We'd like to welcome him to the Qubole team, as we continue our mission to help businesses create value from their data, not complexity.'
