US-based MarketResearch.com, whose offer combines a huge database of industry reports and a range of advisory solutions, has acquired industry reports and consulting services specialist The Freedonia Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Freedonia, founded in 1985 and based in Cleveland, Ohio, publishes more than 100 off-the-shelf industry studies annually, and a collection of 600 'Focus Reports', while also offering clients custom research solutions through its Freedonia Custom Research, Inc. subsidiary.
MarketResearch.com says the acquisition provides businesses, non-profit organizations, and academia with a single source of market research stretching across multiple industries, from consumer goods and services to life sciences, construction and materials to chemicals and packaging. As part of the deal, Freedonia CEO Jeff Weiss (pictured) will continue to lead the business unit, reporting to MarketResearch.com founder and CEO Rob Granader.
