Derek SchoettleIn addition to self-service capabilities for everything from data preparation, migration and integration, to tools for advanced data exploration and modeling, the new cloud data services include a predictive analytics service to allow developers to deliver forecasts for specific product use case, without the help of a data scientist. The service also offers a managed platform to help development teams build web-scale apps; and a graph database service providing real-time recommendations, fraud detection, IoT and network analysis. In addition, the new IBM Analytics Exchange includes a catalog of more than 150 publicly available datasets that can be used for analysis or integrated into applications.

Derek Schoettle (pictured), General Manager, Analytics Platform and Cloud Data Services, says IBM's goal is to provide a one-stop-shop where users can access, build, develop and explore data. He adds: 'Data is the common thread within the enterprise, regardless of where its source might be. Our integrated Cloud Data Services give developers greater scalability and flexibility to build, deploy and manage web and mobile cloud applications, and enable data scientists to apply information across businesses efficiently'.
